on the edge
For me, art-making is a way of making sense of the world, of exploring and breaching the contradictions inherent in modern daily life: the politicization of migration in a country of immigrants, famine in a world of plenty, environmental catastrophe in a world of technological problem solvers.
I melt wax, pick up a brush, and imprint a thought or emotion through a gestural sweep across a surface…and so it begins. Each piece is a dialogue and a path towards consideration and hopefully, insight.
